NordVPN Review 2026: Six Weeks of Real-World Testing

Review date: February 2026 | Test period: 6 weeks

I've been testing VPNs professionally since 2019. NordVPN has topped my recommendations list for three consecutive years. So I spent six weeks using it as my daily driver to see if it still holds up.

TL;DR: Should You Buy NordVPN?

Yes, if: You want a reliable, fast VPN that handles streaming, privacy, and security without fuss.

No, if: You're on a tight budget (Surfshark is still usually cheaper) or you need unlimited device connections.

Speed: Still Fast

NordVPN markets itself as the fastest VPN. On nearby servers, it delivered 312 Mbps — more than enough for 4K streaming on multiple devices.

Streaming: Excellent

Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Disney+ — all worked flawlessly. BBC iPlayer is the toughest test, and NordVPN passed where most fail.

Privacy: Verified

Three independent audits (PwC twice, Deloitte once) confirm the no-logs policy. Panama jurisdiction keeps them outside 14 Eyes.

The Problems

  • Intro pricing starts from £2.59/month on the 2-year deal; renewals and monthly plans cost more
  • The map interface is clunky — use list view
  • No port forwarding for advanced users
  • Customer support has gone downhill (chatbots first)

Verdict

NordVPN remains the best all-rounder in 2026. It's not the cheapest, and it's not perfect, but the combination of speed, security, and streaming reliability is unmatched at this price point.

Score: 4.8/5
